Recipe
Durgesh Kumar, a shopkeeper who runs Shri Dauji Mishthan Bhandar on Station Road in Firozabad, told Local18 said, “carrot halwa is a popular winter treat. People often buy it from shops, but it can also be made easily at home.”
To make carrot halwa at home, start by buying fresh red carrots from the market. Wash them thoroughly, then finely grate them. Next, heat some milk on a high flame. Once the milk has heated up and you can see the creaminess on the surface, add the grated carrots and allow them to cook. When the carrots are soft and well-cooked, add sugar and continue to cook on low heat until the sugar is fully dissolved. In about 25 minutes, a simple and pure halwa is ready to serve.
Enhancing the Taste With Cashew Nuts And Cardamom
To further enhance the flavour, many people add various dry fruits to the halwa. When preparing it, you can add your favourite dry fruits, such as cashew nuts, almonds, and cardamom, just like they do at shops. If you make carrot halwa at home, you can enjoy it for up to a week.
