A preview of QR feature has also appeared in the iOS beta version. While not yet fully available to all users, it is expected to be included in the stable version soon.
WhatsApp, an integral part of daily life for many, has introduced a feature to make sharing information even more convenient. Users will now only need a QR code to share data, simplifying the process significantly.
This feature was initially launched last year but was limited to celebrities and major brands. Now available to all users, it provides a platform to broadcast information effortlessly. While channels could previously be shared through links, the process is now even easier with the introduction of QR codes.
Testing The QR Code Feature
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started rolling out the QR code generation feature in the beta version 2.24.25.7 for Android. Although first observed in version 2.24.22.20, it was not available to all users at the time. Now, it is accessible to a larger group of testers.
A preview of this feature has also appeared in the iOS beta version. While not yet fully available to all users, it is expected to be included in the stable version soon.
Sharing channels via QR codes is not only fast and convenient but also highly beneficial for users looking to avoid copying and pasting links. This functionality is ideal for celebrities, brands, and small creators aiming to connect with their followers quickly and directly.
Recent WhatsApp Updates
In addition to enhancing the channels feature, WhatsApp has improved media sharing in recent beta updates. A new update introduces a gallery option to the chat text box, alongside the existing camera shortcut. This allows users to choose between the gallery and camera with ease. Apart from this, WhatsApp has also introduced the ‘Lists’ feature, which helps organise chats using various filters.
Another significant update is the voice transcription feature, enabling users to convert voice messages into text instantly. If you haven’t explored this yet, it is worth trying, as it effectively transforms voice into text with ease.
