Indian-origin Kevan Parekh is all set to start his journey as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of leading technology brand Apple. He will reportedly take up his new responsibility in January 2025. 52-year-old Kevan will succeed Luca Maestri. Presently, he is the Vice-President of Financial Planning and Analysis for the company. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple Inc., the world’s largest company by market capitalisation mentioned on Tuesday that Kevan has been part of the company’s financial leadership team for more than a decade and has comprehensive knowledge regarding the company. According to Cook, Kevan is the perfect name to be Apple’s upcoming Chief Financial Officer.

Kevan Parekh has been associated with the leading American tech company Apple for the past 11 years. He joined Apple after working at Thomson Reuters for around 4 years. Before Thomson Reuters, he worked at General Motors for around 5 years. As per his LinkedIn profile, Prekh started his career in 2004. He started his professional life as the Manager of capital markets at the NY Treasurer’s Office in General Motors. Later he was promoted to director of business development. He joined Apple in June 2013.

Talking about his education, Kevan pursued a BS in Engineering from the University of Michigan. Following his graduation, he completed his MBA from the University of Chicago.

Kevan reports directly to Tim Cook about several internal matters of the company. Regarding his role at Apple, when Kevan joined the company he started with marketing, internet sales and services, and engineering teams. Some of his present key responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, G&A and finance, investor relations, and market research. It is believed that since he has been part of the finance team for a long time now, he is the perfect choice to replace veteran Luca Maestri.

The shuffle in the company’s leadership comes just ahead of its multiple product launches that are scheduled to take place on September 9.
