Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals have been found guilty of committing the same offense for the second time this IPL season.

The Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals lost their third match of IPL 2025 as they failed to chase down a 200-plus target against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Wednesday night. And the inaugural champions were found guilty of maintaining slow over-rate which resulted in their captain being slapped with heavy financial penalty by the BCCI.
RR have been found guilty of the offense for the season time in this season and hence, a heavy fine.
“As this was his (Samson) team’s second offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Samson was fined INR 24 lakhs,” read a statement from the BCCI.
“The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, will be fined either INR six lakhs or 25 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser,” it added.
RR were also penalised during their fielding for the slow over-rate as they were allowed one less fielder outside the circle during the final over of GT inning at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The home team collected 16 runs from the 20th over, bowled by Sandeep Sharma and finished with a mammoth total of 217/6.
