Inter Miami managing owner Mas gave an honest explanation stating that the Miami-based side would absolutely grab on to the opportunity to add a player’s of Neymar’s caliber to their roster if given an option.

Will Neymar Jr shift his base to Miami next summer? The questions remain trending for a long time, with fans speculating a reunion of the iconic “MSN” trio. There have been rumours that Neymar might join his former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami upon the expiry of his current contract with Al Hilal in June 2025. The Brazilian forward is keen to reignite his career, having played just seven matches since joining the Saudi Pro League side in the summer of 2023. When asked about the possibility of signing Neymar, Inter Miami managing owner Jorge Mas gave an honest explanation.
“The key word is if he were to become available. He is an Al-Hilal player now. He’s not available to us. I have always said we aspire to bring great players to our team. We have a lot of roster limitations and restrictions, but we have an unlimited budget. We are aspirational,” Jorge Mas told GiveMeSport.
“If there is ever a chance to bring the calibre of a player like Neymar, we will not hesitate. It doesn’t depend only on me. It depends on the player and the league. But yes, we aspire to build a great roster here,” he added.
It is not yet confirmed if Al Hilal will hand a contract extension to Neymar, who has been recovering from a hamstring injury since November. About his future in Saudi Arabia, club executive Esteve Calzada said, “This is something the coach (Jorge Jesus) needs to decide when he’s back fit. We are now in the middle of the season. We are doing well. We are very confident with the squad we have at the moment,” as per Goal.
Amid talks over their potential reunion, Neymar spoke about his bond with Messi during a recent interaction with Band Sports. “We are far away but we talk, we talk a lot. We are happy for each other. I spoke to him, he’s a great guy, he’s a great mirror for me, he’s a great idol. Besides being an idol, he’s a friend I have and we talk a lot.”
During their time at Barcelona, Messi and Neymar won the LaLiga and the Champions League. The duo also shared the Ligue 1 crown as part of Paris Saint Germain. Messi has been impressive since joining Inter Miami. The Argentine legend secured the 46th trophy of his career earlier this season by winning the MLS Supporters Shield.
