India’s Yuki Bhambri and Robert Galloway exited Wimbledon men’s doubles in the third round after a tough match. Other Indian players also faced early exits.

India’s Yuki Bhambri and his American partner Robert Galloway put up a valiant fight before bowing out in the third round of the Wimbledon men’s doubles on Monday.
The 16th seeds pushed their fourth-seeded opponents, Marcel Granollers of Spain and Horacio Zeballos of Argentina, to the limit but eventually fell short in a hard-fought match that ended 4–6, 6–3, 6–7(10) after two hours and nine minutes.
Bhambri and Galloway had earlier advanced to the second round with a solid 7–6(8), 6–4 win over Monaco’s Romain Arneodo and France’s Manuel Guinard.
India’s challenge ended at Wimbledon with Yuki’s exit.
Balaji and Reyes-Varela Fall in Second Round
India’s Sriram Balaji and his Mexican partner Miguel Reyes-Varela also faced a formidable challenge in the second round, coming up against the same fourth-seeded duo of Granollers and Zeballos. Despite showing resilience, Balaji and Reyes-Varela were beaten in straight sets, 4–6, 4–6, in a match that lasted one hour and 20 minutes.
The unseeded pair created several close moments but failed to convert crucial chances against their experienced rivals.
Bollipalli-Barrientos Push Sixth Seeds in Tight Encounter
Later in the day, India’s Rithvik Bollipalli and his Colombian partner Nicolas Barrientos tested the sixth-seeded British duo of Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski in a thrilling contest. The Indian-Colombian pair put up a commendable performance, especially in the second set, but narrowly lost 4–6, 6–7(9) in one hour and 47 minutes.
The second set tiebreak saw Bollipalli and Barrientos earn set points, but the seasoned British pair held their nerve to clinch the victory.
Bopanna Makes Early Exit, Tyagi Falls Short
Earlier in the tournament, India’s most experienced doubles player, Rohan Bopanna, suffered an unexpected first-round loss, marking an early and disappointing end to his Wimbledon campaign.
Sumit Nagal and teenager Dev Javia were also absent from the men’s doubles draw, while youngster Nishant Dabas competed in the junior events.
