Microsoft is now bringing the iPhone link support for Windows PCs which is available through the latest Windows 11 insider version.

iPhone users have more reasons to consider using a Windows PC

A new feature is being tested by Microsoft for Windows Insiders in both the Dev and Beta channels. The company has already support to Android users giving them access to their phones via the Start menu. And soon, the feature will be compatible for iPhone users as well. What this means is that you get direct access to calls and texts from the phone linked to the PC.

It is said to enhance the experience of transferring files between devices. For this feature to function, users must be logged into their Microsoft account on their PC.

In a blog post, the company announced that the iPhone may now use Windows 11’s Start menu phone integration for Windows Insiders. Last year, the Android version of this feature was tested; iPhone support is anticipated later.

Users of Windows 11 with Insider Preview Build 4805 or higher in the Beta channel and Phone Link version 1.24121.30.0 or higher are now able to access the new feature. To utilise this feature, users must have a PC that supports Bluetooth LE.

Additionally, they must be logged into their Microsoft account on their computer. This feature will be included in standard editions of Windows 11 in the upcoming months, according to the company.

Start Menu for Windows 11 sharing files between iPhones and PCs is made simple for users by iPhone integration. iPhone users who are connected can now access their devices via the Start menu.

From the Start menu, they can check the phones’ battery life and connectivity, access their calls and texts, and keep an eye on their most recent activity.

According to a recent report, Microsoft is testing a new file-sharing user interface (UI) in Windows 11 that enables users to share files with different applications just by dragging them.

The new “Drag Tray” feature allows users to share files by dragging them to the top of the screen, much like file sharing on smartphones. Although the update release notes don’t mention this feature, some people saw it in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.4805.

It has been noted that users must drag files from File Explorer to the upper edge of the screen. A tray displaying the various sharing choices then appears. To have the file automatically attached, users can drop it over their favourite icon.
