WNBA players left shocked upon learning about the incident (X)
For the second time in the past three days, a WNBA fan was at the center of a viral incident.
During the final minute of the fourth quarter of Tuesday night’s WNBA game between the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream, a fan chucked what appeared to be a green sex toy onto the court.
Even though the score was tied 75-75, WNBA officials and security had no choice but to pause the game and tend to the situation.
“Oh my gosh. That’s inappropriate,” the commentator said. “Get them out of here, whoever that is.”
The players couldn’t even believe their eyes when they learned what caused the delay.
After the court was cleaned up, the Valkyries took the lead on a clutch bucket from Cecilia Zandalasini. They would hold on for an impressive 77-75 win.
The WNBA has not yet commented on this matter. It’s imperative that the league does something to put an end to these wild fan-related incidents.
The Dream are back in action on Wednesday night, making a trip to the College Park Center in Arlington to face Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.
