Woman who has live streamed every second of her life for the past three years reveals the heartbreaking truth

A Twitch live streamer who has broadcast every second of her life for over three years revealed the job has prevented her from achieving her real dream – to get married and buy a house.

EmilyCC, 28, holds the record for the longest continuous stream on the Amazon-owned streaming platform.

In November, she marked three straight years of live streaming on Twitch, and was even joined by the app’s biggest star, Kai Cenat, to celebrate the occasion.

While she has made a career out of constantly recording her life, Emily told The Washington Post that live streaming has actually prevented her from achieving her dreams.

She told the outlet her goal is to buy a house and get married by the age of 30, but at 28-years-old and a full-time streamer, she is too busy to date.

Due to demands of constantly being online, Emily has not been able to take time for herself and build intimate relationships with others while she has stream her life for the last three years.

‘For three years, she has taken no sick days, gone on no vacations, declined every wedding invitation, had no sex,’ the outlet said.

Emily joined Twitch in 2016 at just 19-years-old when she worked night shifts as a cashier on Long Island.

Her boyfriend at the time told her to try Twitch and said, ‘Your life sucks, you work at CVS, you have no friends… This could be helpful.’

By 2021, she moved to Austin, Texas and was fully committed to Twitch – even streaming the day she broke up with her boyfriend.

As she continued to make money through Twitch, she started to look for new ways to challenge herself.

‘[Viewers] are expecting more all the time,’ she said. ‘I’m like: What more do you want?’

So in November 2021, she decided to have her first ‘subathon,’ a streaming challenge designed to win subscribers by hosting a marathon broadcast.

She has not stopped since then, revealing to The Washington Post that she has not gone on a date in seven years and worries that taking a break would be ‘career suicide.’

‘It’s forcing myself to do things I don’t want to do because I want this stream to work,’ she said. ‘I want it to work so bad that I just don’t care anymore.’

Emily did not confirm how much money she makes from Twitch, but she earns $5.99 a month from each of her thousands of subscribers, plus donations and tips.

Her base income is estimated to be around $5,000 a month, according to analytics firm Streams Charts.

Emily admitted that streaming full time has made her feel lonely and even strained her relationship with her parents because they cannot understand why she broadcast every second of her life.

She also said she does not like to show sadness and her true feelings on the stream because it makes viewers uncomfortable.

‘If I was always live, I didn’t have to think about things,’ she said. ‘I just want to be awesome as possible.’
