World Cancer Day 2025: Every year on February 4, World Cancer Day is observed to spread awareness and educate people about the prevention, detection, and treatment of this life-threatening disease. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer remains the leading cause of death globally, claiming approximately 10 million lives in 2022. On this day, individuals and organisations worldwide come together to highlight the importance of early diagnosis, improved screening, advanced treatment options, and the need for stronger global efforts in the fight against cancer.
World Cancer Day 2025: Theme
The theme for World Cancer Day 2025, “United by Unique,” underscores the significance of personalised, patient-centred care in the battle against cancer. It highlights the necessity of tailoring treatment to meet the unique needs of each individual.
This theme is part of a three-year campaign running from 2025 to 2027, focusing on the personal journeys of cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. The initiative aims to foster empathy, understanding, and inclusivity in cancer care while advocating for more individualised treatment approaches.
