World Thinking Day was first observed during the 4th World Conference of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1926. The name of the day was changed from ‘Thinking Day’ to ‘World Thinking Day’ in 1999. They selected February 22nd to celebrate this international day because it was the birthday of the Boy Scouts’ founder, Lord Baden-Powell and his wife, World Chief Guide Olave Baden-Powell.
