After its initial announcement this spring, The Venice Simplon-Orient Express, a Belmond Train, has revealed interior images Set to debut in March next year, this carriage will be the largest on the ultra-luxurious train, featuring a grand bedroom with a freestanding bathtub, a separate bathroom, a lounge area that can also serve as a private dining room and even a hidden tea lounge. You might be surprised to learn that the cost of renting the world’s most luxurious rail suite, L’Observatoire featured on the Venice Simplon-Orient Express, is a staggering 80,000 pounds, equivalent to approximately Rs 88 lakh for just one night. Regarding his vision, JR explains, “The carriages have journeyed through many decades and eras, so I aimed to approach them in a way that honours this rich history. Both my work and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express embody a sense of craftsmanship, making L’Observatoire a perfect match. Collaborating with artisans, selecting woods and materials, and exploring motifs felt unrestricted to me, as I aspire to create a timeless piece of art, almost as if I were an artist from the 1920s. While I’ve incorporated elements that are unique to the 21st century, the essence of craftsmanship remains timeless.”
