Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru began their WPL 2025 campaign on a high, with two convincing wins against the Gujarat Giants and two-time runners-up Delhi Capitals. But as soon as the juggernaut moved from Vadodara to their home ground in Bengaluru, RCB faltered.
The Bengaluru side went on to lose four consecutive games at home and are now placed fourth on the points table, with just two games left and a must-win scenario, besides some more calculations.
Bengaluru, who have just four points after six games, can reach a maximum of eight points by winning their last two matches against the UP Warriorz and the Mumbai Indians.

Gujarat and Mumbai are already placed on eight points, while Delhi are out of Bengaluru’s reach with ten. Despite being well behind, RCB‘s luck is still in their own hands.
Bengaluru’s chances in the WPL 2025 playoffs will end as early as Saturday, March 8, if they lose to the Warriorz.
But if Bengaluru win, they will follow the match between Mumbai and Gujarat to know whose net run rate they must surpass to qualify for the playoffs.
Gujarat (0.33) have a better NRR than Mumbai (0.26), and an added advantage for Bengaluru is that their last game will be against Mumbai only.
Bengaluru are 60 runs behind Mumbai’s NRR but will need to defeat them by just 20 runs if they can win against the Warriorz by 10 runs and Mumbai lose to Gujarat by the same margin.
Going past Gujarat will be more challenging for Bengaluru; their collective margin of victories against the Warriorz and Mumbai needs to be around 62 runs if the former lose to Mumbai by just 10 runs.
Meanwhile, staring at elimination, the Warriorz will hope for a stronger middle-order performance as they look to derail Bengaluru’s campaign.
Apart from some individual flashes of good cricket, the Warriorz have not been able to fire.
With only four points from seven games, the Warriorz are languishing at the bottom of the table and are just in contention on paper.
Defending champions Bengaluru have endured a tough WPL 2025 as well, with four points from six matches and are coming on the back of four consecutive losses.
