The 2025 edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will kick off this week on February 14. Since WPL’s introduction in 2023, the tournament has delivered some of the most thrilling moments in women’s T20 cricket.

Within just two seasons, the franchise league has already made a huge impact while also setting up the stage for the upcoming edition. Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians set up a brilliant foundation for the league by winning the first season by defeating Delhi Capitals in 2023.

With Smriti Mandhana at the helm, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were crowned champions in 2024, again beating the Capitals. The RCB skipper broke several records in her team’s historic run last year.
