A college wrestling star has been identified as the man charged with murdering student gymnast Kara Welsh.
Chad T. Richards, 23, has been accused of fatally shooting Welsh, 21, following a dispute on August 30.
The University of Wisconsin student, from Plainfield, Illinois was found with multiple gunshot wounds at her off-campus apartment just before midnight.

Welsh was a star athlete for her college, having won a national title on the vault in her junior year
Police said the two were known to each other, but have not confirmed the nature of their relationship.
Richards is scheduled to appear at the Walworth County Courthouse later today.
He has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide, endangering safety by the use of dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct while armed.
Like Welsh, Richards was a student at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.
