WWE analyst Sam Roberts believes Roman Reigns could turn heel again with Jacob Fatu showing signs of becoming a babyface. The Original Tribal Chief amassed fans all over the world during his WWE Universal Championship reign as a villain.

Since his return to the Stamford-based company last summer, Reigns has been an incredible babyface. Roberts, however, wondered if the multi-time world champion could eventually become an antagonist again.

Speaking on Notsam Wrestling, the 41-year-old analyst said, “What happens if – by the time we get to WrestleMania 42 [in 2026] – Roman Reigns is back to being a heel? Because he is showing heelish tendencies [already],” he said.

Roberts was referring to Roman Reigns’ recent character development in the company. Despite playing babyface for the last few months, the Original Tribal Chief led an assault against Seth Rollins and CM Punk at Madison Square Garden last week.

Rollins and Punk were featured in the RAW episode’s main event when they locked horns inside a cage. The ex-Shield member secured a victory over the Second City Saint by escaping the steel structure.

Once the match was over, Roman Reigns appeared out of nowhere to victimise both CM Punk and Seth Rollins. Hinting at the character shift, Sam Roberts said, “What if he is back to being a villain? And what if we can build Jacob Fatu as a babyface versus Roman Reigns as a heel for a WrestleMania or SummerSlam? That’s just where I see it going.”

Roman Reigns was absent from the WWE for several months after losing his WWE Universal title to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. In his absence, Solo Sikoa seized control to become the Tribal Chief of The Bloodline. Reigns eventually returned to the company during WWE SummerSlam last year where he attacked Sikoa to cost him a chance of winning the Undisputed title.

He even competed against his former faction at Survivor Series 2024 to regain control of The Bloodline, establishing him as ‘the good guy’ again.

Jacob Fatu, on the other hand, has acted as Solo Sikoa’s enforcer over the past year. He quickly became a prominent figure in the WWE for his intimidating presence and high-flying moves. With many fans and commentators believing that Fatu has the potential to become a future leader, it is likely the WWE Universe will see him compete at a WrestleMania main event very soon.
