WWE SmackDown action made a return to live television on December 6. The signature weekly event was hosted at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The show featured all the updates from the recently concluded Survivor Series 2024.
SmackDown kicked off with a promo from the Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes who later squared off against Chad Gable in the main event. DIY later faced the Motor City Machine Guns in a WWE Tag Team Championship clash. In women’s action, Bianca Belair locked horns with Piper Niven.

Bianca Belair beaten down by Chelsea Green and Piper Niven
This backstage segment began with Naomi and Bianca Belair having a few words. The duo discussed how they would be going after the person who took Jade Cargill out. Bianca then wished Naomi luck in her match. As Naomi left, Belair was surrounded by Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. Green taunted the EST for having free time before Belair accused her of attacking Cargill before landing a blow. Green and Niven overwhelmed her before leaving together.
LA Knight demands United States Championship rematch
The segment began with Shinsuke Nakamura making his way to the ring. Before he could say anything, LA Knight interrupted him and complained about losing the US title. Knight then demanded his rematch then and there. Moments later Andrade rushed to the ring and claimed he wanted to face the champion. While the trio were in the ring, the Outlaw Bloodline arrived and attacked Knight and Andrade. Finding himself outnumbered, Nakamura rolled out of the ring and retreated.
Kevin Owens attacks Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes won the SmackDown main event by beating Chad Gable with the Cross Rhodes. Moments after his victory, Kevin Owens appeared out of nowhere to blindside the Undisputed Champion. He attacked Rhodes’ injured ankle by laying punches on it. Several referees, guards, and General Manager Nick Aldis arrived to pull Owens away from the champ. They got back at each other as Rhodes dived on him. The duo kept trading punches as security worked to separate them. Just when they managed to get the two stars apart, Rhodes broke free and attacked Owens again as the show went off the air.

Elektra Lopez vs Naomi vs Tiffany Stratton in WWE Women’s United States Championship Tournament First Round Match – Tiffany Stratton won the match by pinfall using the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
Bianca Belair vs Piper Niven – Bianca Belair won the match by pinfall using the KOD.
DIY vs Motor City Machine Guns (c) for the WWE Tag Team Championship – DIY win by pinfall after hitting Chris Sabin with Meet in the Middle to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
Chad Gable vs Cody Rhodes – Cody Rhodes landed the Cross Rhodes on Chad Gable for a pinfall win.
