One of the longest-running television shows, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, continues to dominate the TRP charts, keeping audiences engaged with its compelling storylines and drama. The on-screen chemistry between lead actors Rohit Purohit and Samridhii Shukla has also been widely appreciated by viewers. In a recent interview, Rohit shared his thoughts on why the show remains a fan favourite, emphasising that its legacy goes beyond just ratings.
In an interview with Tellychakkar, Rohit Purohit stated that according to him, “Yeh Rishta to TRP ke beyond hi hai’. Elaborating on the reasons for the show being so successful, the actor said, “Ye jo reason hai woh ye hai ki jo team iske piche hai, jo core team woh same hai. Mujhe lagta hai ki 70 percent log aise honge iss show ke aandar jo 16- 17 saal se kaam kar rahe hai. To jab aise log kisi show ko banate hai woh pura aapna dil jaan laga dete hai (The reason behind this is the team, the core team has been the same. I think 70 percent of the crew have been working here since the past 16- 17 years. When such a team works together, they give it their everything).”
He added that each time a new generation is introduced, the makers focus on developing the characters and crafting a storyline that deeply resonates with the audience. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which first premiered in 2009, continues to thrive under the banner of Directors Kut Production.
Rohit mentioned that the makers have been able to keep the content fresh even after 16 years. He said, “Aur aaj bhi fresh hai. 16 saal ke baad itni freshness ek show mein, content mein, to woh team ki wajah se hai. Rajan sir ke conviction ki wajah se (The show is still fresh and the credit goes to the team and Rajan sir’s conviction).”
Rohit also believes that the audience remains deeply connected to the show as they have followed the journey of its characters over the years.
Meanwhile, the current track revolves around Armaan and Abhira’s (Rohit and Samridhii) life after a brief leap. The couple is struggling to conceive, leading Roohi (Garvita Sadhwani) to step in as their surrogate. Despite their complicated relationship, Abhira trusts that Roohi can help them. Recently, Romiit Raaj, who plays Rohit Poddar, confirmed the conclusion of his track, leaving fans eager for the upcoming twists and drama.
