The White House was the scene of a furious bust-up between American president Donald Trump and Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelensky as they met to discuss the ongoing war with Russia.
Talks between the Ukrainian president and Trump collapsed early on Friday after the pair’s meeting descended into a shouting match.
The White House accused Zelensky of ‘disrespecting’ vice president JD Vance in front of the cameras and demanded an apology.
But a defiant Zelensky last night refused to offer one, as European leaders rallied behind him following the tense exchange.
Tomorrow the UK’s Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is hosting a crunch summit with President Zelensky and other European leaders in a bid to reach a peace deal.
