Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan (Zimbabwe National Cricket Team vs Afghanistan National Cricket Team) Live Cricket Score 2nd Test Day 1: Persistent rain and a damp outfield caused nearly a four-hour delay at the start of the second Test between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan in Bulawayo. Once the conditions improved, Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine won the toss and chose to bowl, citing the favourable overhead conditions and the pitch’s preparation under covers.
“The overhead conditions suit bowling. The wicket has been under covers for quite some time, and we want to make use of the moisture and green grass,” Ervine said at the toss.
Zimbabwe made two changes to their lineup from the first Test, bringing in Sikandar Raza and Richard Ngarava in place of Brandon Mavuta and Trevor Gwandu.
Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi also revealed that he would have opted to bowl first, given the lively pitch conditions. The visitors made five changes to their playing XI, introducing Rashid Khan, Fareed Ahmad, Yamin Ahmadzai, Riaz Hassan, and Ismat Alam. Notably, Fareed, Riaz, and Alam are making their Test debuts.
“The pitch looks a little spicy, and we wanted to bowl first as well,” Shahidi remarked.
