If you’re looking for a quick and delicious sweet treat, suji ke laddu (semolina laddu) is a perfect choice. Known for its light texture and rich flavour, this traditional Indian sweet is made with simple ingredients and comes together in no time. Whether it’s for a festive occasion or an unexpected guest, suji laddu never fails to impress. Here’s how you can make it

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fine semolina (suji)
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup ghee
  • ¼ cup lukewarm milk
  • ¼ cup chopped cashews, almonds, pistachios
  • 2 tbsp desiccated coconut (optional)
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder

Method

  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry the dry fruits until light golden. Set aside for later.
  • In the same ghee, roast the semolina on low heat, stirring constantly until golden and fragrant (about 8–10 minutes).
  • Add coconut (if using), roasted dry fruits, and cardamom powder. Mix well.
  • Add powdered sugar, followed by lukewarm milk gradually to bind the mixture. Turn off the heat and let it cool slightly.
  • While the mixture is still warm, shape it into laddus. Let them cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
