Warriors vs Lakers | Wednesday, Oct 21, 2026 at 10:00 pm ET | crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, CA | ESPN
An in-state rivalry between two California teams tips off tonight. The Warriors are hoping to give Steph Curry one more meaningful season before his career winds down. He isn’t ready to retire and still has plenty of basketball ahead of him, but Golden State isn’t well-equipped to compete with the league’s younger teams.
They have Jimmy Butler and Kristaps Porzingis, but both will start the season away from the team due to injury/health issues. There isn’t much salary cap or draft capital for the team to maneuver in order to supplement the squad.
The Lakers decided it was time to part ways with LeBron James. He won them one championship, completed multiple milestones, and brought the franchise back to relevance, but now the keys are turned to Luka Dončić. Additionally, they have Austin Reaves and traded for Walker Kessler.
Which team will win the first battle between the California clubs this season? Make the call on Fanatics Sportsbook. New users can use promo code FOXNEWS350 to earn $350 in FanCash from a $20 wager.
