Jets defender delivers brutal hit to Browns rookie wide receiver, knocks him out of the game
New York Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick delivered an old-school hit to Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion in the first quarter of their matchup on Sunday afternoon.
At the wet and rainy MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the Browns were looking to get points on the board as the Jets got out to a 7-0 lead. Deshaun Watson saw Concepcion get some space and threw the ball to him. Fitzpatrick was lurking in the secondary.

Just as Concepcion was going to presumably catch the ball and turn up field, Fitzpatrick welcomed Concepcion to the NFL with a brutal hit. Fitzpatrick appeared to lead with his helmet and was flagged for a hit on a defenseless receiver.
Concepcion appeared to have his bell rung. He was down on the ground for several moments before getting up and walking off the field under his own power. He was ruled out for the rest of the game.

Cleveland was able to notch a field goal on the drive.
The Browns selected Concepcion in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. He played collegiate football at N.C. State and Texas A&M before turning pro. He emerged as a reliable target in the Browns’ offense. He came into the game with 17 catches for 144 yards so far this year.
Fitzpatrick has already been known as a hard-hitting defensive back. In his first season with the Jets, he has 16 tackles and an interception.
