In a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar India, Kareena Kapoor elaborated on how she has embraced the changes in her with age and does not want to alter it artificially. She mentioned, “Age is a part of beauty. It’s not about fighting lines or trying to look younger; it’s about embracing and loving the age you’re at. I’m 44 and have never felt better. I don’t feel the need for Botox or any cosmetic enhancements. My husband (Saif Ali Khan) finds me sexy, my friends say I look amazing, and my films are thriving. I play roles that reflect my age and am proud of it. I want people to see me for who I am and appreciate that.” She added that ever since she entered the film industry, she was assured that her talent and effort would keep her employed. She took care, stayed fit and aimed to be the greatest version of herself.
Meanwhile, Kareena, in the same interview, spoke about how she finds charm in simplicity. Reminiscing about the yesteryears in the film world, she noted, “We just showed up in our jeans and T-shirts, and that authenticity was part of our charm. Today’s media landscape is different, with a lot of pressure to look perfect. However, staying true to oneself is what resonates. It’s rare to be genuinely yourself in a world that often demands perfection.”
In another cover interview with Vogue Arabia, Kareena shared how she believes that the cliche beauty standards are no longer important in Bollywood. “I’ve embraced myself through every decade of working – from 18 to my 20s and 40s; from being a size zero to having two children. Beauty is a positive word with a positive emotion, and we should look at it that way,” stated the actress.
