911 call captures chaos after Austin Metcalf stabbing

Anthony was convicted last week in the fatal stabbing of Frisco teenager Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. The newly released exhibits provide the public with a closer look at the evidence that jurors considered before reaching their verdict.

Hours before Karmelo Anthony fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf at a Texas high school track meet on April 2, 2025, his girlfriend reported him to school staff for allegedly stalking her as he texted that he was “on the verge,” according to a 75-page court document obtained by Fox News Digital.

That morning, Anthony’s girlfriend, Valeria Torres Perez, told a Centennial High School staff member that Anthony had been driving by her home and refusing to let her end their relationship.

At 12:59 a.m., text messages attributed to Anthony show him writing, “im lowk on the verge.” The message does not specify what he meant. He repeated and emphasized it about 35 minutes later.

The document outlines dozens of alleged prior acts prosecutors sought to introduce at trial, including threats, assaults, weapons-related messages and statements about committing robberies. It does not say the messages were about Metcalf or establish that any weapon mentioned in the exchanges was used in the track-meet stabbing.

Prosecutors filed the notice on May 8, 2026, to identify extraneous offenses they intended to use at trial. It is not a judicial finding that the alleged acts occurred, and the notice warns that some screenshots capture only portions of the full exchanges.

The notice reaches back to a Dec. 23, 2023, exchange with Perez, when Anthony described losing control when he became angry.

“When I get mad i see red,” he wrote. “When I get mad i blackout,” “When I get mad i cant control myself” and “When I get mad my eyes change color.”

In that same exchange, Anthony allegedly said he assaulted another person after the individual posted about “smoking” Anthony’s cousin. “He posted where he was at and we pulled up and got em,” Anthony wrote.

A May 5, 2024, Instagram photo allegedly showed Anthony holding a firearm while posing with a group.

By May 17, 2024, Anthony had told Perez he was going to shoot a woman, writing, “im shooting her,” the notice says. On June 10, 2024, he allegedly threatened to shoot Perez by asking, “how many bullets uu want coming out of ur chest.”

Six days later, he allegedly threatened to assault Perez again, writing, “imma beat ur a–.”

The court document does not provide a formal mental-health diagnosis or establish that Anthony was experiencing a psychiatric crisis before the shooting. Instead, it presents prosecutors’ account of prior conduct they argued could be relevant to the case.
