The BJP’s allies in the ruling NDA hailed the party’s massive win in the Delhi assembly elections, results of which were declared on Saturday. Two of the strongest allies — TDP and JD(U) — said while the victory reflects the people’s confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people also chose to punish AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu said the BJP’s win in the Delhi assembly election reflects people’s confidence in Modi. Describing the win as historic, saying the people of the national capital reposed faith in him.
Addressing a press conference, he slammed the outgoing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, saying Delhi has become a city of garbage and totally polluted. “After 27 years, people elected the BJP government in Delhi. This is a historic victory because today the victory is not only for the BJP or Delhi people, but for the self-respect of the entire country. Narendra Modi is creating a sustainable model for the country. I am sincerely complimenting him. Today’s win in Delhi reflects the confidence of people in Modi,” he said.

Civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, who is the national general secretary of the TDP, said the people of Delhi gave their “overwhelming support” to the BJP under the “visionary leadership” of the prime minister.
“…This massive mandate reflects the people’s trust in a responsible and accountable government, one that is committed to delivering on its promises. With the double-engine Sarkar in state and center the capital region is set to soar to new heights of prosperity and growth. Together, the NDA govt will fulfill the aspirations of every Delhiite and build a stronger, brighter future for our great city. Congratulations to all Delhiites on this victory,” he wrote in a post on X.

Andhra Pradesh deputy CM Pawan Kalyan echoed the TDP’s sentiments and congratulated the BJP. He said the party’s resounding victory is a welcome development and the promises made in its manifesto have garnered public support.
The Janasena chief, in a statement, said Modi is governing with sincerity to ensure that India becomes a developed country. “Through the ‘double-engine government’, integrated development and welfare will reach the grassroots level in the national capital. The promises made by the BJP in the ‘Viksit Sankalp Patra’ have garnered public support for the development of Delhi and the welfare of its citizens,” he said.
Union minister and JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan said the AAP was being punished by the people of Delhi for 11 years of “misrule”. He also accused Kejriwal of being unfair towards migrants from Bihar and behaving as if the national capital was the latter’s “fiefdom”.
“We had sensed what would be going to happen in Delhi Assembly polls while campaigning for the BJP-led NDA. The people were fed up with AAP’s propensity for tall talk and engage in a squabble with the Centre,” he told reporters.
Describing the BJP’s Delhi victory as a “teaser”, Union minister and HAM chief Jitan Ram Manjhi said people should wait for the “movie in Bihar”. He said he is confident that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will register a triumphant win in the Bihar polls, just like the BJP’s sweep in Delhi.

“Dilli toh jhanki hai, Bihar abhi baaki hai… Jai NDA (Delhi is just a glimpse, Bihar is yet to come. Jai NDA),” he said in a post on X.
From Maharashtra, where the BJP won its last assembly election, Mahayuti allies NCP and Shiv Sena credited Modi for his leadership and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for drafting “accurate” poll strategies that ensured the saffron party’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years.
They said Delhi voters have rejected the Congress that had questioned the election process and claimed that the Constitution was under attack. “The voters have once again handed the Congress, which falsely claimed that the Constitution and elections are all in crises, a complete defeat. Their lie has been defeated and the voters have fully supported the truth,” Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said.
“BJP got this success due to the trust in Narendra Modi’s leadership and the accurate management of Amit Shah,” NCP leader and Rajya Sabha member Sunetra Pawar said. Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar also congratulated Modi, Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda for the party’s success.
Union ministers Chirag Paswan and Anupriya Patel also congratulated the BJP. Patel said the AAP indulged in corruption and lies in Delhi, but people gave a reply to it through their votes. She said the people of Delhi voted for development and “freedom from corruption” this time.
“I congratulate the people of Delhi for choosing Bharatiya Janata Party. I congratulate them for voting for development, clear water and air, right governance and freedom from corruption,” said the minister, whose party Apna Dal (Soneylal) is a part of the NDA.

Paswan, meanwhile, credited the Delhi win to Modi, Shah, and Nadda. “…This victory of the double engine government of #NDA is a symbol of the development work of the Central Government, the policies of the Central Government, and the faith of the people of Delhi. I also campaigned on many seats of NDA, during the election campaign it was clearly visible that the people of Delhi want change this time. The way the people of Delhi voted against corruption is commendable. The NDA government led by Prime Minister is committed to making Delhi clean and developed.
I respect the mandate given to my party Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) on the Deoli seat.
Thanks to the people of Delhi for their immense support,” he said in a post on X.
