‘Monday Night Football’ betting preview sees Giants as live underdog against the Rams with Cam Skattebo rising

As a sports bettor, you know you’re going to have losses. Successful bettors win somewhere around 53 or 54% to be profitable. There will be great runs when you try to get all the money into the pot that you can, and there will be some stretches where you have a major struggle. That’s when you have to navigate the bankroll a bit and keep the management at the forefront so you don’t start chasing to recoup the losses.

I’ve put out three plays and gotten three losses this week. I also lost my survivor play as the Buccaneers made the Browns look like a competent team. I need a win here for “Monday Night Football” as the Giants take on the Rams.

The New York Giants come into this game after taking down the Cowboys in their season opener. New York has been a bit of a laughingstock for years, but now they seem to have built something that looks like a competitive team. Over the past few years, they’ve gotten a strong primary receiving target in Malik Nabers, then drafted a quarterback who has some swagger and looks like he is a great addition, Jaxson Dart. Fan favorite Cam Skattebo seems to be a reliable running back who is making a difference.

Perhaps the biggest addition is that John Harbaugh has been brought into the fold. Reports from Giants players in the offseason said that it was one of the hardest camps they’ve ever had. Harbaugh brings toughness, competitiveness, and professionalism that the team may not have had previously.

Traveling across the country can be a challenge, but it doesn’t mean the Giants can’t win this game. In the first game, Dart found Isaiah Likely multiple times. Having a reliable secondary target for Dart is going to open up a lot of offense.

The Los Angeles Rams were dubbed Super Bowl champions before this year started. Then, they showed why they play the games.

Los Angeles looked like hot garbage as they played San Francisco in Week 1 in Australia. You have to assume the team would’ve done better if they were playing in a normal location. How much stock can you put in the Rams’ failure and sleep issues from their travel? If you recall, they flew into Australia right before the game, and then left very shortly after. It clearly didn’t work out.

If you watched the first quarter of the game, the Rams struggled to get anything going, but the 49ers weren’t faring much better. The Rams finally got the offense working and scored a touchdown (Kyren Williams – more on that in a minute). Both teams threw an interception, but the 49ers ended up scoring a touchdown after they got theirs. Overall, the Rams offense couldn’t get it working. The last three Los Angeles possessions were turnovers on downs, a fumble, and another turnover on downs.

Monday night features one team that is looking to go to 2-0 and cement themselves as legitimate playoff contenders.

The Rams are looking to get back to 1-1 and show that it really was just an issue of traveling across the world to play a football game. I personally don’t like the sides in this one. I lean toward the Giants, but could see the Rams looking to run up the score. My play is actually on Davante Adams to get over 62.5 receiving yards. I don’t think the Giants have the personnel to guard both him and Puka Nacua.

I will also once again bet on Kyren Williams to score the first touchdown of the game. Williams is +400 to score first, and he scores the first overall or first Rams touchdown regularly. Back Williams for the first touchdown or first Rams touchdown if you want a bit more safety.
