The Rays finally showed that the Brewers are not invincible. Through the first three games of the World Series, it looked like no matter what happened in the game, the Brewers were going to win. It even looked like it in 11.5 innings of yesterday’s game, but perhaps the Rays have flipped the script.
The Brewers were trailing twice in Game 4, and they responded with runs of their own to tie the game. It wasn’t until the top of the 12th inning that they got the lead for the game. Cooper Pratt, a guy not really known as a power hitter, blasted a ball to left and gave them the lead. The Brewers have had multiple people with big hits that aren’t normal for them. It felt like they were ready to party, and then the bottom of the 12th happened.
Junior Caminero stepped to the plate, and you had to think that if anyone would get things going for the Rays, it would be him. Caminero reached base via error. The next four Rays all got hits, and the team scored two runs to give themselves the win. The four hits for the Rays were almost as many as they had in the first 11 innings of the game.
