Jose Ramirez — For years, Jose Ramirez has been the best player on the Guardians, the guy who made Cleveland a threat. He never won an MVP or a batting title, or even a home run title, but he has been consistently great. Last night, Ramirez went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI.
Chase DeLauter — In just his first season in the big leagues, DeLauter has already established himself as one of the best hitters in the American League. He hit .287 with 16 homers and 67 RBI this year. In the postseason, he’s been just as strong, recording at least one hit in five of the six games the Guardians have played. Last night, he scored three runs and had three hits, including a homer and a double.
Patrick Bailey — The bottom of the order can make a major difference in a series. In last night’s game, the Guardians got a game-tying homer from Bailey. It was one of two hits from Bailey and gave Cleveland life last night.
Rays:
Cedric Mullins — Some of the most important players in baseball games don’t even start the game. Mullins came in as a pinch runner and hit a homer in his only at-bat of the game. At the time, it brought the Rays within one run of the Guardians.
Johnny DeLuca — It wasn’t the best game in the world, and there was a scare when DeLuca and Junior Caminero collided on a foul ball. However, DeLuca did get two hits in four at-bats, including an RBI. The team couldn’t get him in, as he didn’t score a run himself.
