William Contreras — The Brewers’ catcher has been fantastic this season, hitting .270 with 18 homers and 94 RBIs. In the postseason, he has been even better with a .391 batting average. He has nine hits in 23 at-bats and three of them have left the yard. He went hitless in Game 1, but carried the team to victory in Game 2. If he keeps swinging a hot bat, this series might be over in just two more games.
Dodgers:
Shohei Ohtani — For the best player in baseball, it has been a rough stretch. He still hit 30 homers and .275 for the year, but he has struggled since coming back from injury. He returned to action on September 23rd, and has had 41 at-bats, getting just eight hits. He hasn’t hit a homer since August 18th. Last postseason he was a key to their success, and this year he looks awful. If he starts hitting, this team might start winning again.
Will Smith — Last postseason, he was one of the heroes of the Dodgers. This season, he is struggling to even make good contact. He has eight strikeouts and just one hit in 23 at-bats this year. Against the Brewers overall, Smith is hitting just .193. They need him to make contact and get on base.
