Former Indiana Fever player and Amazon Prime commentator Sydney Colson lost complete control during Tuesday’s WNBA playoff game between the Las Vegas Aces and Fever, lunging at a spectator while a staff member physically restrained her.
The chaos began when Aces star A’ja Wilson overreacted to a fan who simply pointed at her and shouted, “It’s on you!” following a foul call. Wilson marched two rows deep into the baseline seats to confront him, earning a technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Instead of maintaining professional distance as a credentialed media member, Colson and fellow Amazon analyst Theresa Plaisance (also a podcast co-host with Wilson) left their courtside seats and inserted themselves into the altercation.
As arena personnel escorted Colson and Plaisance away from the baseline, a spectator in a red Fever shirt directed a comment toward them. Plaisance pointed back and called him a “little b***h boy.” Colson then continued pushing aggressively toward the fan as an Amazon staffer struggled to hold her back. Video footage captured her shouting, “Who do you think you are? B—-, who the f— do you think you are?”
Colson spent the 2025 season in Indiana before exiting the franchise. Ever since packing her bags, taking public cheap shots at her former team has become a habit.
Right on script, the broadcast team immediately scrambled to run cover for Wilson.
Prime Video analyst LaChina Robinson insisted on-air that “something was said” simply because Wilson does not normally react that way.
Aces coach Becky Hammon predictably chimed in, claiming she had never seen Wilson react like that and assuming her star felt “deeply disrespected.”

Wilson doubled down after the game, apologizing to her teammates for picking up the technical foul while insisting the fan’s conduct crossed the line.

“I don’t know if you guys know me, but I don’t get into the bulls—,” Wilson told reporters. “I try to play my game, keep it pushing. But if I’m just walking, because I just got the foul, I’m chilling, and if I see a man come at me, taking steps toward me and pointing at me, I don’t give a damn what you said. I don’t give a damn how you said it. The tone, that is unacceptable.”
Wilson went further, complaining about how the fan was allowed to return to his seat after security reviewed the incident.
“And how he gets back in the game because they said he didn’t do anything? Of course he did, and that’s fine,” she said.
The Fever confirmed that arena security interviewed witnesses and found zero violations of the Fan Code of Conduct.
In August, after Chicago’s DiJonai Carrington was ejected for a dangerous neck hit on Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, Colson publicly targeted her former teammate by sarcastically posting, “Love a trans foul,” on social media.

In any other professional sports league, a credentialed commentator physically restrained from charging a paying fan would face immediate suspension or termination.
Yet Colson remained mic’d up for Amazon’s broadcast during the entire outburst, while the live coverage rushed to defend Wilson without acknowledging that the fan broke zero rules.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for Amazon or WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert to do anything about it.
